Course Title: Organizing information and using information organizations
Searching for information, finding information, and organizing information are different kinds of activities than they were 20 years ago. Marshall McLuhan famously said, "The medium is the massage." This play-on-words that notes the medium used to create, exchange, store, and retrieve information affects (massages) the message of that information. In other words, video content says something different than text content, even if all the words are the same. We’re going to learn about organizing and searching for information in physical, digital, and online contexts. We’re going to become skilled organizers and finders of information and we’re going to learn how to choose the proper method for each situation.
